I tried everything for bloating. Here’s what actually stuck.

After all the scrambling — the thing that finally stuck was the simplest.

Elimination diets. A FODMAP chart on my fridge. A cabinet full of half-used supplements. If you’ve tried everything for bloating, believe me — I have too. Here’s the honest rundown of what didn’t work, and the one thing that finally did.

The elimination diets

I cut gluten, then dairy, then “trigger” foods, until eating out felt like defusing a bomb. Some helped a little. None fixed it. And living on a shrinking list of “safe” foods is exhausting.

The ACV gummies & the vinegar shots

The gummies were loaded with sugar and a tiny dose — taking something sweet for my gut never sat right, literally. The vinegar shots had the opposite problem: effective reputation, unbearable in practice. Harsh on my throat and my teeth. I lasted a week.

A random probiotic

Helpful in theory, but it was only one piece of the puzzle — and I kept forgetting to take it.

My supplement graveyard — everything I tried, half-used.

Here’s the thing I finally understood: bloating after 40 isn’t one problem with one fix. It’s usually several things at once — fewer enzymes, a gut that’s slowed down, bacteria a bit out of balance. So every single-ingredient fix underwhelmed me, because each only addressed one piece.

Bloating after 40 isn’t one problem with one fix. So no single-ingredient fix was ever going to be enough.

What stuck was the opposite of all that scrambling: one daily capsule that covers several bases at once. Margaret combines apple cider vinegar with a probiotic, prebiotic fiber, and digestive enzymes — so I’m supporting breakdown and balance, daily, in one habit. No sugar, no shot, and simple enough that I actually keep doing it (which, after all my abandoned bottles, turned out to be the real secret).

One capsule, one glass of water. Finally simple.

It took a couple of weeks of consistency, not a magic morning. But for the first time, I stopped managing my bloating and just… stopped thinking about it.

What’s actually in Margaret

  • Apple cider vinegar — the benefit, without the sugary gummy or the harsh shot
  • Probiotic — for the balance that shifts with age
  • Prebiotic fiber — to feed it
  • Digestive enzymes — for the breakdown your body finds harder

One small capsule. Once a day, with water. No sugar, no shot.
